The GEARS Research Institute (GRI) serves as an incubator for the development and implementation of research that furthers our knowledge and understanding of how to impact the psychosocial and health outcomes of underserved communities in the United States and internationally.
Within the past years, GRI has accomplished the following:

Developed data collection instruments and conducted analysis on gender- specific HIV programs for HHS.

Improved a technical assistance program for organizations serving the HIV community through a multi-year evaluation for the MAC.

Translated racial and ethnic health disparity variables used in CDC's REACH 2010 program to CDC's Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program.

Implemented a national HIV testing program at events heavily attended by those most at risk of acquiring HIV for CDC
